Advances in modern computer architecture are leading to an ever increasing number of available cores. New algorithms and new technologies (e.g.~hardware transactional memory) are being developed to take advantage of this. This seminar presents an overview of the current and related work on concurrent data structures and parallelization of algorithms. The research focus is on algorithms and data structures used in ray tracing.
