The Summer school 2014 for college students has ended. The workshop was focused on students already keen of programming who wanted to learn more on algorithms and data structures, especially aimed for computer programming competitions. The workshop was organised by dr. Andrej Brodnik and Matevž Jekovec from the Laboratory for ubiquitous systems, Tomaž Hočevar from the Laboratory for bioinformatics at the Faculty of Computer Science, and Janez Brank from the Laboratory for artificial intelligence at Jozef Stefan Institute.
The workshop covered basic data structures and algorithms, dynamic programming and string processing. Each day a theoretical talk was given on a subject followed by practical assignments using UVa online judge system. On Friday we had a competition (link to assignments and codeforces portal). Matevž Poljanc, the third year at Škofijska klasična gimnazija in Ljubljana, has won the competition. The organizers of the summer school congratulate the winner and wish him all the best in the future!
