Members of the laboratory carried out an in-service teacher training Informatics is also a science for secondary school Computer Science teachers. Physical computing in general was presented and a concrete example of using it at teaching was shown.
Žiga Željko won the bronze medal at CEOI 2016! Žiga has already won the bronze medal the last year at CEOI 2015. In this year's competition, among 52 best programmers from Poland, Croatia, Romania, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland, he achieved 181 points out of 600 which sufficed fpr the bronze. We sincerely congratulate Žiga and wish him all the best in programming adventures to come.
From Monday 20th to Friday 24th June LUSY will host an invited speaker from the University of Chile. dr. Jeremy Barbay will have two talks: on Tuesday 21st June at 11h at LALGinar, and Thursday 23rd June at 11h at FRI piškot titled Optimal Prefix Free Codes with Partial Sorting.
On Thursday, 26 May 2016 there will be an invited talk given by prof. Domen Mongus from the University of Maribor. His primary goal is parsing and clustering of cloud of points obtained from the LIDAR system. He is a member of the GeM2A laboratory.
New member of our laboratory, Sandi Režonja, was in the winning team in student's hackaton DragonHack 2016, which took place at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science on 14th and 15th of May.
